Thwapr is a Mobil to Mobil Video Sharing web 2.0 tool that can be use in a variety of ways. For educational purposes, we as teacher can learn to educate in the 21st century using 21st devices in this digital world/environment by incorporating them into our classrooms.

As a Science teacher, I found this tool engaging and exciting for my sixth graders. Thwapr allows users to capture live video, store it, and send it to anyone in the world. This application can be useful conducting science experiments, where each student can record his/her science experiment in the comfort of their home and send it to the teacher as a homework assignment.

After the instructor has viewed the video, he/she can show the best five videos in the class, creating a small rivalry between the students, which will also encourage students to complete homework assignments.

All to often we hear about the behavior of our school children. This has mostly stemmed from the lack of evolving with this generation. We tell our children to turn off the cell phones, or don’t bring the ipods or blackberries to school. But with Thwapr, we can capture video at any given moment or upload video that is shared. Of course there are some videos that are for educational purposes and they will be some that will abuse this system, but there is so much more that can obtain and learned from these tools.

Every child want to be a little producer of their own world and what better way to incorporate that skill or desire into our classrooms.
